Tasks
Task no.1
Issued by organiser or scanning QR code
Create a plan with your coach on which tasks you will perform to gain mastery over the following skills:
  • assess information needs,
  • adapt my searching strategy to find the most appropriate data, information and content in digital environments,
  • explain how to access these most appropriate data, information and content and navigate among them,
  • vary personal search strategies.

Examples to develop these skills:
  • Assessing information needs: Choose a topic you want to learn more about and write down the key questions you have about it. Ask yourself questions such as: What do I want to learn? Why is this important to me? Who can help me with this? By answering these questions, you gain more insight into your information needs.
  • Adapting search strategies: Start by using simple search terms in a search engine such as Google. If you don't find the right information, try using synonyms or related terms. Also, try different search queries to see which ones yield the best results.
  • Explaining how to access the most suitable information and how to navigate it: When you find information that seems relevant, click on the link to go to the page and see if the information is useful for you. If it is, check if there are links to other related pages and also view those. Take notes or save the pages that you find useful.
  • Varying personal search strategies: Try out different search engines and sources, such as library and government websites, or specialized search engines like Google Scholar. Also, try different search terms and combinations of search terms. Use filters and advanced search functions to refine your search query and get results that better match your information needs.

But it doesn't stop there - increase the value of your badge by adding your learning process and achievements to it. This enables potential employers to gain a better understanding of your digital skills.
